COMMUNIST CANDIDATE ARRESTED CHARGED WITH VAGRANCY Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright MONTREAL, October 1. t A message from Terre Haute, Indiana, states that Mr Browder, the Communist candidate for the Presidency, was arrested to-day and charged with vagrancy. His four colleagues, includWaldo Frank, the novelist, were also arrested. The mayor, Mr Beecher, who is a Republican, stated that he will not allow Communism to be established .in Terre Haute. Governor Landon and President Roosevelt recognise that Communism is a menace to the nation.
