Barton beat Mrs Everard, 3 and 2. Miss Fishwick beat Miss Bullard, 5 and 4. Miss Wade beat Mis Howard, 6 and 5. Miss Garnham beat Miss Lake, 5 and 3. Miss Molly Gourlay beat Mrs M'Gowan, 6 and 4. Miss Morgan beat Mrs M'Leod, 1 up. Miss Newell beat Mrs Wood, 3 and 2. AUSTRALIAN TITLES SEMI-FINALS DECIDED MELBOURNE September 30. Two 21-year-old golfers, Jim Ferrier, of New South Wales, and Alec Rae, of Victoria, will meet m the final of the Australian amateur championship tomorrow. Ferrier had an easy victory today in the semi-final, defeating the Victorian, W. Edgar, 9 and 8. Rae, in the other semi-final, deefated the Victorian, L. Duffy, 3 and 2. The professional semi-finals produced surprises. The Victorian, W. Clifford, defeated von Nida, 1 up. The Victorian, R. Harris, defeated the South Australian, F. M'Mahon, 4 and 3. AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP NO SURPRISES IN FIRST ROUND SUMMIT (New Jersey), September 29. The favourites won in the first round of the women’s golf championship today. Maurene Orcutt Crews beat Mrs Henry Dietrich, 6 and 4. Patty Berg beat Eva Shorb, 1 up.
