NORTH BROKEN HILL. PROFIT OYER HALF-MILLION. [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 1. Cabled advice has been received by the Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand that the audit of the of the North Broken Hill Ltd. for the year ended June 30 has been completed. It show's that the net profit of the company after providing for depreciation, taxation, and royalties amounted to £636,940. CORPORATION BUILDING LEASES. Messrs N. and E. S. Our Auckland correspondent telegraphs;—There has been little animation in the stock markets since the last report. The special feature has been the continued strength in gold mining shares. Mount Morgans, after active selling yesterday afternoon, from 14s 2d to 14s 9d were quoted at the first call this morning from 14s 6d to 14s 9d. Marthas were firm, with a market between 19s 8d and 20s 3d. In the banking section New Zealands were close to business with quotations from £1 18s 5d to £1 18s 6d. National Insurances were in demand, with buyers at 18s 9d and sellers 3s higher. Macky, Logans had their first sale since July at 21s 3d, ,an advance of Is 3d. Farmers’ Trading had business unchanged at 18s lOd, and a subsequent market between 18s 8d and 19s. In Australian issues, Broken Hills were slightly firmer between 76s 6d and 76s Bd. J. Coles were quoted ex rights, with a wide market, from 74s 9d to 77s 6d. Government stocks were in steady demand, and two sales were made at unchanged rates.
