SCOTCH DAY
COMMUNITY SINGING To-morrow’s sing is to be a real Scotch one. It will bo held in the Strand Theatre (by courtesy of FullerHayward) at the usual hour, 12.15. Mr H P. Desmoulins the leader, has arranged a good collection of the most popular Scotch songs. Mollie Doyle, of the Bluff, who is only 13 years old, and is the youngest girl piper in Australia and New Zealand, will be one of the big attractions. Miss Doyle will “ pipe in ” Demmy, Hemmy, Alfie, and Harry, who will appear as Scotchmen. Mr Arthur M'Donald will assist with Scotch songs. Every pound note that is donated, Cr W. H. Shepherd will make up to 21s, and he hopes that patrons will make the Scotch day one to be remembered. The committee appreciates the donations that have been received during the season, but there must be thousands of Jistenersiu who have enjoyed the sings, and have not sent donations. They can show their appreciation by sending to Boggs or Strand Theatre. Airs M‘lntyre would be pleased to receive flowers for the stall. Proceeds are for the mavor’s relief of distress fund.
