ATTACK OH OFFICIAL PARTY ASSISTANT DISTRICT OFFICER WOUNDED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyrigh CANBERRA, September 30. (Received September 30, at 11.5 a.rn.) News has been received from the Acting-Administrator of New Guinea of an attack by natives on September 24 on a patrol in the Rai Coast area, near Madang. The Assistant District Officer, Mr Norton, and all members of tlie camp were wounded. Six of the attacking natives were killed and one woman captured. The natives grabbed Mr Norton while the women attacked him with knives. Other men attacked Mr Norton’s native police with arrows.
