One sent out an SOS, but it is not known which vessel it was. GOVERNMENT DESTROYER SINKS LINER PICKS UP SURVIVORS. TANGIER, September 29. (Received September 30, at 10 a.m.) The liner Koutoubia, which is picking up the survivors of tho naval battle, has reported that the Government destroyer Ferrandiz had sunk. ADVANCE TO MADRID BEGUN LONDON, September 29. (Received September 30, at 11 a.m.) Tangier reports that the Cervera sank tho new destroyer Gravina in West Tarifa. The Fejrandiz went to hor assistance, but was struck by a shell and retreated. The Cervera is now in pursuit of tho Koutoubia, which is taking survivors to Casablanca. Insurgents from Burgos state that an advance towards Madrid from Toledo has begun. General O’Duffy’s offer of 2,000 Irish recruits has been declined. KILLED IN THE FIGHTING LONDON, September 29. (Received September 30, at 11 a.m.) The British United Press correspondent at Seville says: Prince Carlos, of Bourbon-Orleans, was killed in fighting at Monn shortly before the capture of Eibar, near Bilbao. Prince Carlos, who had been popular among the insurgents, was born in 1908 near the spot where he was killed. He was a brother-in-law of ex-King Alfonso’s youngest son, Prince Juan.
