POINT FOR COURT OF AFPEAIi [Per United Press Association.! \ WELLINGTON, September 30. The Appeal Court to-day heard the case of Walter Robert Boyd, of Putaruru, who in August was found guilty by a jury at Hamilton of receiving * number of truck tyres, valued at £l2l Bs. During the hearing of the case the Crown desired to calf evidence to show that certain cigarette tobacco obtained by theft had Been found in the accused’s possession, but to this the accused’s counsel raised an objectwn. However, the judge ruled evidence was admissible, but deferred sentence pending determination by the Court of Appeal of a case stated for its opinion by Mr Justice Fair on point. Decision was reserved.
