IS COMMUNISM CHRISTIAN?

TO THE «DITO» Sir,—ln a land like Sussia, which has been taken over in the interests of all the people, what need is there for any Opposition? If there should bo any Opposition this would not be m the interests and welfare of the people, therefore should not be permitted. You say “tortures, burnings, killings are. thought to be exact descriptions .of the works of Communism in Spain. ’ You are quite sure evidently the Communists are doing this, but these' thing* hav© to be proved, I repeat that Com* munism does not advocate violence. There may, however, be some men carried away by their bitter feelings who commit excesses. Communism attracts any uneducated people, too, for it is intended to better the dregs of humanity fjust as Christ came for the lowly people', and these, being uneducated, a-e not likelv to know their misdeeds in their true and* evil gravity. They are the product of a Capitalist world. Communism is the new Christianity; it will enable Christianity to function. Loyalist Spain is fighting for her freedom ; hers is a just battle for existence. But wfio made it necessary to fight? Those who claim to be Christians, the Fascists, the tools of the world’s parasites and exploiters.—l am, etc., B. E, Kite. September 20.
