SALE OF WORK
FIRST CHURCH EFFORT A sale of work was held by the members of the Russell street branch of First Church this afternoon in the new hall. _ This was the first sale to be held in the hall and the proceeds will be devoted to the new Sunday sc libel building fund. The stalls were well stocked wit!: a variety of goods which found a ready sale, and it was expected that the results would be satisfactory. The stallholders were as follow: Fancy work, Mesdames Keogh and M'Kenzie; plain work—Mesdames W. M’Knight, H. Irvine, and Huntley; cakes—Mesdames W. Ewing, Hornell, and Hyde; flowers, Miss Melville and Mrs M'Gregor; books and produce, Mrs Smith and Miss Scott; sweets, Miss N. Johanson; Bible class, Miss Paulin ; Busy Bees—Messrs Sehlonbach, Jenkins, and Miss Allan, The afternoon tea was in the hands of Mrs Carruthers and helpers. -■ sab will be continued to-night.
