TRACK WORK AT RANDWICK

TWO EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCES Pro* Asiociatios—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, September 29. (Received September 29, at ° p.m.) Gold Rod’s nine furlongs was the best training gallop ever recorded at Randwick under the conditions, until Mala (W. Cook) later in the morning ran the same distance in Lmin 56|sec, assisted by Golden Treasure over the last five. The two great gallops occasioned much discussion. It was pointed out that Gold Rod was carrying a bigger weight and was going comfortably away from Imbiber at the finish, whereas Mala, although holding oh his companion, was not far in front, and the track was possibly faster at the time Mala was working.
