HOMING PIGEON CLUB
FLOCK RACE FROM ROLLESTON The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew a flock race from Rolleston, an air-line distance of 185 miles, to the central lofts. One hundred and thirtytwo birds, representing 18 lofts, were liberated by the station master in fine, calm weather. The conditions enabled the birds to put up a fast fly, and a very close finish resulted. Twenty-eight seconds separated the first and fifth placed birds. The placings were as follow: J. Scoullar’s Sunlca (1,431.9) 1, W. Everett’s Red Hope (1.430.2) 2, C. M'Farlane’s Direct Fire (1,429.4) 3, A. Goodman’s Ace Pot (1.429.2) 4, H; Millard's Silver Note (1,429.1) 5.
