COUNTRY CLUBS' TOURNEY
SECOND ANNUAL COMPETITION TAIERi WINS TEAMS* MATCH ■ \ The second annual competition for teams representing the country clubs in Otago was played on the Balmacewen Links during the week-end. Thirteen clubs were represented, being one more than last year. In the morning a bogey handicap was played, and the event was ■won l by A. L. Allan, of the Balclutba Club, with a score or 1 down, the run-ner-up being R. T. Hay, of the Waikouaiti Club, who was 3 down. ' The teams’ match, played in the afternoon, resulted in a win for the Taieri Club with a net aggregate score of 313. The Balclutha Club was run-ner-up with a total of 319. At the conclusion of the competition the trophies were presented to the winners by Mr H. Brash, the donor of the challenge cup. He expressed gratification at the interest taken in the competition by the members ‘of the country dubs. Mr E. M. Lake, of the Taieri Club, thanked Mr Brash on behalf of the visitors for presenting the cup and the Otago Club for arranging the competition.
