Coincident with his passing of the 200 mark for the season in to-day’s game with the West Coast, D. Trevathan, the Otago first fiveeighth, completed a new record in Ranfurly Shield games, in which in the eight shield i games played _ he totalled 72 points, a performance never previously equalled in the history of the Ranfurly Shield. These were made up of 1 try, 14 conversions, 7 penalties, and 5 potted goals. Ho also scored a try in the return game with Southland at Invercargill, which was not a shield match, and thus his tally for the season in the nine rep. games was 75. In the senior club games he scored 124 points for Southern, and he added 5 more in the Payne Trophy match against Sunuyside (Christchurch).
