She certainly didn’t understand football. “ Why did they stop that man and knock him down as soon as he touched the ball? ” she asked. “ Because he was trying to score a goal,” her young man explained* “ Bu ( t isn’t the object of the game to get goals? ” “ Yes, but he was—you see, ne’s on the other side. He was going the wrong way—-that is, towards the wrong goal.” “ Well, I don’t see why they should knock him down to tell him that. Everybody makes mistakes.”
