LAWN TENNIS

OPENING OF NEW SEASON The annual opening of the Balmacewen Tennis Club took place on Saturday ' afternoon in the presence of a large gathering of members and friends. The vice-president, Mr A. M'MiHan, extended a warm welcome to all, especially the new members, and referred to the success attained by the club last season, and also to the excellent present condition of the courts. Ho wished them a successful and happy season. Mr R. L. Fairmaid conveyed the best wishes from the bowling and croquet sections, after which afternoon tea was served and games'were played until dusk.
