SHARP ACTION NEAR JENIN FORTY-DUE ARAB CASUALTIES Pres* Association—By Telegraph-Copyright JERUSALEM, September 24. Detachments of the Royal Scots Fusiliers and the Lincolns, with supporting aeroplanes, attacked an Arab concentration near Jenin, inflicting 41 known casualties. The action lasted two hours. One aeroplane made a forced landing, and the pilot was slightly injured. The Arabs were preparing to rush the damaged machine when another aeroplane swooped down, with its machine gun blazing. It landed, picked up the injured pilot, and flew him to hospital. FOURTEEN PEOPLE KILLED JERUSALEM, September 25. (Received September 26, at 10 a.m.) One British subject and 13 Arabs were killed in last night’s clash. FIRST OFFENSIVE BY TROOPS JERUSALEM, September 25. (Received September 26, at 2 p.m.) The Jenim action is the first in which British troops took the offensive instead of answering an attack. The only British fatality was Private Stewart, of tho Royal Scots Fusiliers. ' Nineteen Arabs were killed and 40 wounded.
