LABOUR M.P.S AND THE TRADE UNION MOVEMENT.
TO THR MOTOR. Sir, —On reading the Labour Movement notes I find that “ Trade Unionist ” omitted to mention the parts played by Mr P. Neilson, M.P., and Mr J. W. Munro, M.P., in the trade union movement in Dunedin. Mr Neilson has always taken a prominent part in the Dunedin Bakers’ Union, having represented this union as an assessor at conciliation on numerous occasions, and even now never missing a meeting. Mr J. W. Munro also is interested in this union, and was president from 1904 till 1908. The bakers of Dunedin are justly proud to have these men from their own ranks representing them in Parliament, and “ Trade Unionist ” cannot be too familiar with the trade union movement in Dunedin when he did not make reference to these two staunch trade unionists.—l am, etc., _ , Baker. September 25,.
