DUNEDIN SWIMMING CLUB

PRESENTATION OF HARRISON GUP The Dunedin Amateur Swimming Club held a most successful social in the! Wilson Hall on Thursday night, the guests of the evening being members of the B team which won the B Grade water polo championship last season. The Social Committee of the club had charge of the arrangements for the function, during which opportunity was taiken by Mr E. H. James, vice-presi-dent of the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, to present to Mr Neil Williams, captain of the Dunedin B team, the Harrison Cup presented by Mr 0. E. Harrison. Mr James congratulated the team on its performance, and said that it was all the more meritorious because of the fact that the team was comprised of young players. Mr James also referred appreciatively to the action of Mr Harrison in presenting the cup to encourage young players, and he thanked the Social Committee of the club for the successful function it had arranged. The captain, Mr Neil Williams, returned thanks on behalf of his team, and paid a tribute to the patron of the club, Mr D. C. Bannatyne, for his untiring efforts and enthusiasm as coach. Ho also thanked all those who had acted as referees for the B Grade games.
