WORLD ATTENTION

FOCUSED ON NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT'S SOCIALISTIC PROGRAMME Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 26. (Received September 27, at 1.5 p.m.) The ‘Daily Herald’ (Labour), in a leading article on the economic recovery of New Zealand says: “ Mr Savage and his colleagues are going from strength to strength. The work of this young Labour Government begins to capture world attention. It is well on its way towards repeating the economic triumph achieved by the masterly Socialists of Sweden. Its programme is not dissimilar to M. Blum’s, but Mr Savage’s difficulties are infinitely less than M. Blum’s. Friends of both Governments have no doubt that the main explanation is that the free devalued New Zealand pound gives Mr Savage opportunities and advantages which the fixed and overvalued franc is denying to M. Blum.”
