The signatures of 18 countries are appended, to the international convention for use in broadcasting in the cause of peace. The Geneva Convention deals with the prevention of untruthful broadcasting on international affairs, especially with the prevention of inflammatory broadcasting in times of international crisis. The Italian delegation, which had taken a prominent part in the discussions, but had withdrawn from the conference on Tuesday, and the Hungarian delegation withheld their signatures. The Soviet signed' with reservations. Lord Cranborne, who signed on behalf of Britain, described the convention as the first step for use in broadcasting in tbe cause of peace.
