LAWN TENNIS

BALMAGEWEN CLUB MEETING The annual meeting of the Balmacewen Lawn Tennis Club was held recently, when Mr A. M'Millan occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance of members. Moving the adoption of the annual report, the Chairman congratulated' the club on its successful season. _He remarked upon the friendly feeling and good sportsmanship which existed in the club. The healthy state of the club’s finances and the general condition of the club’s property also gave great satisfaction. A new ladies’ dressing room was contemplated in the near future, which would prove of great benefit. The report was adopted. The following office-bearers were elected:—Vice-president, Mr A. M'Millan; secretary, Mr W. B. Seymour; committee —Mrs Goodley, Miss Durward, Miss S. Philip, Messrs .1. Ferguson, A. Orton, and A. Hindle; ladder secretary, Mr .1. Ferguson; Match Committee—Mrs Goodley, Messrs A. Orton and W. B. Seymour; delegates to General Committee —Miss E. Philip, Messrs C. Standage and W. B. Seymour; delegates to Otago Lawn Tennis Association, Messrs A. M'Mil'lan and S. N. Brown; club captain, Mr A. Orton. The matter of opening dav and clubs to be entered in the association competitions were left in the hands of the incoming committee.
