MOVEMENTS. —Coastal. — Breeze arrived here yesterday from tho north, and sailed again last night for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. Gale, which is at present in dock at Port Chalmers, is to come up to Dunedin to-morrow, to load out to-morrow afternoon for Wellington and Wanganui via Timaru and Lyttelton. Storm is due on Tuesday from Bluff to load out for_ Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui via ports. Wainui is due to-morrow morning from Wellington. She is to sail the same day for Bluff, returning on Tuesday to load out for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne via ports. Waimarino was to leave Auckland today for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due here on Wednesday, and will sail the same day for Bluff. Holmglen is scheduled to sail on Monday for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Port Waikato via ports. Holmdale is now due next Wednesday, to load and sail the same day for Oaroarn, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. —Overseas — Canadian Challenger, from Montreal via Bluff, berthed at Dunedin this morning. She is expected to sail tomorrow for Lyttelton. Wellington, and Auckland, and is scheduled to leave that port on October 5 tor New York, Boston, and Montreal.
Narbada berthed at the V ictona wharf this morning from Calcutta via northern ports. She is to dock on Tuesday, and it is hoped to despatch her the following day for Blufl, Newcastle, Singapore, and Calcutta Waitaki left Melbourne on Wednesday for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington, and is due here on Tuesday. Tamaroa is not expected to reach Dunedin until to-morrow. She will load a quantity of general cargo here, and will sail on Tuesday for Wellington and Auckland to complete Homeward loading. Ashburton, from New York via northern ports, was expected here today. She is to sail on Monday for a Queensland port, not yet decided. • John Knudsen, with a cargo of bulk petrol for discharge to the Vacuum,Oil Company, berthed at Dunedin yesterday afternoon,- after being held up at the Heads by fog for over 24 hours. The vessel is expected to complete discharge to-day, and is to sail early tomorrow for San 1* raucisco. Chifuku Maru is now expected at Dunedin on Sunday morning to complete discharge of her' Japanese cargo. She will sail on Monday tor Japan via Australia. ‘ Karetu is scheduled to sail late today for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, and Miramar to complete. She will then return to Port Chalmers to dock for overhaul and survey. Limerick is now expected to arrive from Lvttelton on Tuesday. She will sail on "Thursday for Melbourne, . Sydney, Suva, and Vancouver. AUSTRALIA-NEW ZEALAND. Wanganella loft Sydney on Saturday for Wellington. She arrived at Wellington on September 23, and is due back at Sydney, on Sunday. Awatoa was to . leave. ..Sydney yesterday for Auckland and Wellington. She is due at Auckland on Monday, at Wellington on October 1, and at Sydney on October 5. Waikonaiti is to leave Newcastle on October 1 and Sydney on October 3 for Bluff, Dunedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton. She is expected at Dunedin on October 9. Maungamii was to leave Sydney today for Wellington,' where she is due on Monday. Aorangi' is to leave Sydney on October 8 for Auckland, where she is duo on October 12. INTERISLAND EXPRESS. The mtcrislaud express steamer Maori arrived at Lyttelton-from Wellington at 6.40 this morning. Passengers and mail for the south connected with tho express. She arrived at Auckland on September 14, and is due at Vancouver on October 2. Monterey left Sydney on September 16 for Auckland and Los Angeles via Suva, Pago Pago, and Honolulu. She anived at Auckland on September 20, ami is due at Los Angeles on October 3. Maungamii was to leave Sydney yesterday for Wellington and San Francisco via Karotonga and Papeete. She is due at Wellington on September 28 and at San Francisco on October Mariposa is to leave Sydney October 14 for Auckland and San Irancisco via Suva, Pago Pago, and Honolulu. FROM JAPAN DIRECT. The first sailing in the Yamasbita Slxosou Knisha’s direct service between Japan and New Zealand is the Manju Mam, which was to leave Miike .yesterday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel is duo at Auckland on October 18, and at Dunedin on October 24. From this port she will leave for Japan direct. CARGOES OF EXPLOSIVES. Dalgety and Co. advise that the auxiliary ketch Miro is to leave Auckland about the middle of October with a cargo of explosives for discharge at southern ports. The auxiliary schooner Huia is due on the New Zealand coast early in November with a similar cargo from Melbourne. MESS TABLE GOSSIP. Mr J. A. Kirk has been appointed third officer of the Rangatira, relieving Mr D. E. Grantham for holidays. Mr D. I. Buckle has been appointed third officer of the Kalingo to relieve Mr G. D. Jensen for holidays. Mr D, Luckett is relieving Mr A. W. Babbitts, who is on holiday, as second officer of the Maunganui. WANGANELLA’S TRANSHIPMENTS. The Wanganella, which arrived at Wellington on Wednesday from Sydney, brought transhipments ex the Mongolia, Parakoola, Tarxi, Erlingen, and Waipawa.
