GRANTS RECOMMENDED

PROPOSALS OF FINANCE COMMITTEE The Finance Committee of the City Council recommends that the following grants be authorised : To the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce the sum of £25 as a contribution towards the cost of defraying the expenditure of the forthcoming visit of delegates to the _ fourteenth Congress of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire. It is also recommended that the free use of the Concert Chamber be granted for a civic reception and supper to delegates on October 14, and that motor buses be provided for conveying the delegates on observation tours on October 16. To the Town Hall account the sum of £3, representing a remission on account of part charge for use of the Concert Chamber on Sunday, November 8, for a lecture by Mr H. Holmes. The balance—£s ss—of the schedule charge for the hall would be payable by the applicant. The above grants would be a charge against unauthorised account.
