When a village, even though it has only 1,200 inhabitants, attains the ago of 1,100 years, it is entitled to celebrate the occasion. Fronsae, near Libourne and St. Emilion, an attractive river port on the Dordogne (Franco), is preparing to celebrate its I,looth birthday. Fronsae is well known to tourists visiting the region for its ruins of an ancient chateau and a hill 250 ft high, from which there is a fine view over the Dordogne Valley.
