(Received September 24, at 10.30 a.m.) There was a rush for safety when four lions escaped from a circus at Baintres. One jumped over a perambulator- m which there was a baby. It then smashed a window and invaded a bouse. It was locked in the scullery until the keepers, firing blank cartridges, frightened it back to its cage. Another attacked a pony before it was - stunned by a keeper. The others were recaptured after wandering among gardens and orchards and terrifying residents.
