£90,000 ESTATE
GENEROUS PUBLIC BEQUESTS WILL OF LATE MR H. K. WILKINSON Application has been filed for probate of the will of the late Mr Howitt Key Wilkinson, who died at his residence in Dunedin on September 10. The estate has been sworn at under the value of £90,000, out of which it is anticipated the sum of approximately £25,000 will be paid in death duties and other charges. Except for a few pecuniary legacies to relatives totalling £3,500, the whole of the residue of the estate has been placed in trust. The income from four-ninths of the trust, subject to certain conditions, will from time to time be divided into five equal parts, of which one part is to be paid to the League of Nations Union of New Zealand for general purposes, another part to the National Council of the Y.M.C.A. for general purposes, another part to the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, for Bible class work, and the remaining part is to be divided into two further parts, one of which is to be paid to the Boy Scouts’ Association of New Zealand for general purposes, and the other to be divided between the New Zealand Girl Guides’ Association, for general purposes, and the Dunedin branch of the Girl Guides. Throughout his life the late Mr Wilkinson was very closely connected with the bodies mentioned, for whose benefit such a substantial part of the estate has been set _ aside, and ■ the very generous provisions in their favour are simply carrying out that sympathetic and practical interest in them which he has always displayed.
