COMMUNITY SINGING
Each week’s “ sing ” gets brighter ami brighter, and this week a great treat is in store tor those attending and listeners-in. Miss Bertha Rawlinson, Mus. Bac., who has just returned from Sydney, where she won several prizes at the competitions, including the Melba Cup, Champion of Champion Cup, etc., has kindly offered to sin". The West Coast Rugby team will be in Dunedin to play Otago for the Ranfurly Shield, and its members have been invited to attend. Johnnie More, captain of the Otago team, will be present to receive the community singers’ congratulations for the splendid performance of his team this year, and he is sure to receive a great ovation. Mr H. P. Desmoulins, the leader, is arranging another good programme of old and new choruses. Mr Alf.' Pettitt will he at the piano. Next week there will be a Scotch day, and Miss Mollie Doyle, Bluff, Id years of age, youngest girl piper in Australia or New Zealand, is to assist Gifts may be sent to Begg’s or the Strand Theatre. Proceeds are for the mayor’s relief of distress fund. D. Trevathan, the popular Otago player, will lie present to receive a special kewpie from a lady admirer.
