"THE SHOW MUST GO OH" CAMPBELL-BLAGK’S WIDOW TO APPEAR OH OPENING NIGHT Pres* Association— By Telegraph-Copyright LONDON, September 22. (Received September 23, at 11 a.m.) “ There is one rule in the theatrical world, ‘the show must go on,’ ” said Miss Florence Desmond, for whom the opening of ‘ Let’s Raise the Curtain ’ haa been fixed for September 28. Miss Desmond was rehearsing for the show, which originally intended to open on September 21, when the news of Mr Campbell-Black’s death was broken to her.

Miss Desmond to-day said: “A player owes a service to her fellow workers and public. Over 100 artists, musicians, and stage bands who have worked for weeks would be faced with unemployment if the leading lady dropped out.”
