SWEDISH SHIPPING LOANS. Only one application was received by the Swedish Government for a loan from the State Shipping Fund, during the six months ended last December. This was from the Rederi A.B. Rex for a loan, which the Board of Trade recommended should be granted, amounting to 200,000kr towards the purchase of the steamers Fryken and Fernebo. During the same period, Captain K. Kruse, of Gothenburg, applied for a loan, but was requested by the board to send in a more detailed proposal. The lack of applications for loans is ascribed to the comparatively high rate of interest and the strict conditions imposed. IN RADIO RANGE.
