DAFFODIL DAY

On Friday of next week, October 2, the Pluniket Society will hold its annual “ Daffodil Day.” A special effort is to be made this year to start a fund for building a new hospital at Anderson’s Bay, on the site of the present building, which is out of date and inadequate for present-day requirements. Six stalls will bo stocked with produce and flowers, in charge of members of the society. In addition to donations of flowers from all the Otago branches and from Dunedin Gardens, a largo number of blooms will be received from Lawrence and from ■ Sir Heaton Rhodes's garden at Otahuna.
