NIGHT CLUB SEQUEL
GIRL DEMANDS £3 AS TIP A night-club girl who asked two men for a £3 tip for acting as a dance partner, and threw a bucket of water over them when paid £l, was referred to at London Sessions recently. John Percival Robinson, aged_ 36, of Kensington, was charged with driving a motor car while under the influence of drink. . Robinson told the court that he had played a hard game of polo on the day of the incident which led to the charge, and was tired. He had only a cocktail at dinner, and afterwards took _ his brother-in-law, an American, to a night club.
He had two gin-and-tonics on the way, and while he was having these they met a woman, who accompanied his brother-in-law as a dance partner. They took the woman to her flat, where the “ ducking ” took place. He drove to Oxford Circus to report the matter to a policeman, who, instead, of listening, charged him. Robinson was still giving evidence when the jury stopped the case. He was discharged.
