apprentices. Bill this session, but a short amendment of the Apprentices Act would be embodied in another Bill, probably the Statutes Revision Bill, giving the Minister of Labour power to enter into special contracts of apprenticeship for youths over 18 years of age who had missed the opportunity of learning a trade during the depression. He proposed to take power to approve of such contracts on whatever conditions he deemed reasonable, but the extent to which that power would be exercised had not yet been determined. Consideration was being given to th* question of establishing special workshops for the training of youths, and it was probable that arrangements would be made for special facilities to be provided by technical schools and private firms. The Statutes Revision Bill, which will be in charge of the AttorneyGeneral, will be a sort of omnibus measure, containing short amendments to a number of Acts.
