GANGSTER’S VIOLENT END

What iis believed to be the fourth gangster murder in a recent fortnight in New York was revealed when police found the body of Terry Burns, a former leading “ racketeer,” lying outside a restaurant in the Italian district. It is believed that his murder is part of a war by rival gangsters for the control of “rackets” formerly exploited by Charles (“ Lucky ”) Luciano, who is now in gaol. Luciano had ousted Burns from the leadership of his gang, and it is presumed that Burns was trying to make a “ come-back ” in his rival’s absence.
