MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE
PALMERSTON FATALITY SEQUEL CASE AGAINST MINER COMMENCED Technical evidence was given by four witnesses at the opening of the Police Court hearing of the charge of manslaughter against Richard Corrigan (49), a miner, this afternoon.The charge against Corrigan is that on August 26, at Palmerston South, he unlawfully killed George Stuart Neish, thereby committing manslaughter. Corrigan, who was represented by Mr J. G. Warrington, pleaded not guilty when the case was called this morning. On the application of Cfcief-detective J, B. Young, the case was stood down till the afternoon, when four witnesses gave evidence as to surveys and photographing at Palmetston, the finding of the body, and the post mortem examination. The hearing of the evidence will be resumed at Palmerston ~on Tuesday week, September 29.
