PORT CHALMERS CRICKET CLUB

The annual meeting of the Port Chalmers Cricket'Club was held in the Buifalo Hall. The president, Mr D. Middleton, was in the chair, and there was a good attendance of members and supporters. As a mark of respect to three late patrons—Messrs Ciubert, Ward, and Timlin—the meeting stood in sOence. The annual report and balance sheet were read and adopted on the motion of the president, in speaking to the report, the Chairman congratulated the club on its good financial standing and the past year's performances of the three teams engaged in the competitions, each team occupying a prominent position in its respective grade. In connection with the remit of the Boys’ Association with regard to the establishment of fourth, fifth, and sixth grades, the meetnig, on the motion of Mr A. Culbert, heartily endorsed the idea as being on the right lines. The request from the local council for a fee of £5 per season for the use of the Recreation Ground was fully discussed, and it was decided to pay this on condition that the ground was rendered fit for play each match day in accordance with the O.C.A. regulations. Mr A. Campbell, M.P., was unanimously elected patron of the club. Mr D. A. W. Middleton was again elected as president; vice-presidents —Dr Roy, Messrs E. Tohill, E. Tiffany, R. Bews, J. ' Hope, E. Harraway, G. Wilson, Miss K. Hannon; secretary and treasurer, Mr T. B. Wilson; auditor, Mr Crawford; _ assistant secretary, Mr B. Braithwaite; trustees, Mr Dodds and Mr Armstrong; club captain, Mr B. Braithwaite; committee—Messrs Walsh, Braithwaite, Wilson, Russell, Nelson; delegate to 0.C.A., Mr T. Armstrong; deputy-club captain, Mr J. Hutton. The opening day was fixed for the first Saturday in October.
