(Received September 21 at 1 p.m.) Disquieting statements that Silver Ring was a doubtful starter in the Metropolitan, for which he is a clear public fane- were refuted bv the trainer (Stewart), who said that, provided Silver Ring was fit on the day of the race, there was every intention of starting the gelding. Stewart added that Silver Ring most likely would go to Melbourne for the spring carnivals.. ‘ The Sydney Morning Herald/ commenting on the Hill Stakes says Silver Ring is one of the most consistent gallopers who has come from New Zealand.
