PUKEMIRO COLLERIES DIVIDEND RATE UNCHANGED. A final dividend of; per cent, is recommended by the directors in the annual report of Pukemiro Colleries Ltd. The interim, dividend of per cent, paid in March means that the total dividend rate of 6 per cent, lor the year is unchanged compared with the previous year. Net profit for the year amounts to £12,685, and, ’after providing £3,850 for income tax and £2,391 for depreciation, the available balance for distribution amounts to £5,256. _ The payment of the final dividend will leave a balance of £1,756 to bo carried forward to next year’s accounts. ALLIANCE ASSURANCE During last year the Alliance Assurance Company issued 5,214 new life policies, assuring a total amount of £3,844,800. The life and annuity funds at the end of the year totalled £24,893,659. The net premium income on the fire account was £2,103,080, and the outgoings were £1,669,958. In tho marine account the premium income was £333,310. and the claims paid were £183,643. Tho total, accident funds at the end of the year were £1,234,009. The additions to the profit and loss accounts were £897,729, out of which £50,000 was allocated to the staff pension fund ans £150,000 to reserve, and, a dividend of 18s per share for the year (less income tax) was declared, absorbing £489,570CLAUDE NEON, SYDNEY Claude Neon Ltd. (Sydney) reports a net profit of £21,536 for the year ended June 30, compared with £16,440 the previous year, and £10,163 _ for 1933-34. The dividend is maintained at 15 per cent., requiring £18,357, and £I,OOO is transferred to general reserve, leaving £5,378 to be carried forward against £3,199 brought forward. At the annual meeting shareholders will be asked to approve of an increase in the directors’ combined remuneration, from £BOO to £I,OOO a year.
