Rees, aged 23, and sft 6in high, is described as a little man Without nerves. He produced one of the most amazing recoveries in the history of professional golf. He turned five down and still faced an overwhelming deficit with 14 holes to go, when he did 10 holes in 34. He had birdies at six holes, and only one putt on seven greens. Whitcomhe had par figures for the same holes.
