In connection with tho proposal to replace threepenny pieces with larger coins, the new coin would be or distinctive colour, neither silver nor copper, and with a special edge in tho form perhaps of a wave. The .issue of threepenny pieces of the existing pattern, made by the Mint in 1934, amounted in value to £94,000, of "Inch £60,000 went to Scottish banks.
