BRIGHTON RATEPAYERS

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION The monthly meeting of the Brighton Ratepayers’ Association was held on Tuesday evening, when a good attendance of members was presided over by Air Bell. A letter was received from the Taieri County Council stating that its grader had been over the road, and that water tables were being cleaned and the footpaths from the Post Office to Alurdoeh’s store were being gravelled. Air,Burton informed the meeting that tho road from Green Island to Brighton would be gravelled in tho near future. The association was pleased to learn that further contracts were "being called for the tar-sealing work on this road. Messrs Thornley and Griffiths reported that the repairs and improvements to the Telegraph Offieo were nearly completed. Alomhcrs again spoke of the necessity of street lighting, especially at Big Rock Corner and at the Post Office.
