The Rev. D. D. Scott, of Khandallah, Wellington, left on his return north, this morning after delivering the Stuart lecture at Knox College. Mr H Lee left for Christchurch by the early train this morning. Mr H. L. Dolamore returned to Dunedin yesterday after a business visit to Wellington. The appointment of Mr R. E. Price and Mr Samuel Ritchie as conciliation commissioners, the first appointment dating from September 14 and the second from October 1, were officially gazetted last night. ■ Mr James Begg and Mr T. A. Duncan have been appointed producers’ representatives on the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. Mr S. C. Doyle, superintendent of railways road services, and Mr H„ Benge, supervisor of railways garages, arrived yesterday afternoon from Wellington. Dr G. Or bell, Invercargill, returned to New Zealand by the Marama. Dr Orbell has been absent from New Zealand for some time, and has returned to engage in practice in Invercargill. While in England be took a course in eye work at the Moorfield Hospital, the largest eye hospital in England, where he was successful in obtaining an extra diploma. On the trip from Sydney he was able to render valuable assistance to Captain It. 6, Kane, master of the. Marama, who had to be operated on hurriedly.
