CUMBERSOME AWARDS
MANY FAULTY IN STRUCTURE STANDARD FORM DESIRED [Per United Press Association.! AUCKLAND, September 18. A statement that many of the existing industrial awards were extremely cumbersome and in great need of re casting was made in the Arbitration Court this morning by an. Auckland lawyer, Mr Lisle Alderton, who said there were many instances of awards being cluttered up by annual additions to what was frequently an ill-conceived structure in the original form. Many clauses were obsolete, but still retained some extraordinary clauses that were childish and sources of irritation. He realised the difficulty of recasting, but suggested that the drafting of the forms should be a matter for an expert draftsman attached to the court. Mr Justice Page agreed, remarking that they would soon try to draft a standard form of award.
