ST. CLAIR SCHOOL
The monthly meeting of the St. Clair School Committee was presided over by Mr E. C. Love.' The , bead master reported that the roll number stood at 546. There had been many absentees through sickness. During the month, several teachers from other schools have visited the school, on the senior inspector’s advice, to study the organisation of the infant department. The most urgent need of the, school is the installation of radio, equipped with a pick-up and amplifiers, so that collective work along modern lines becomes possible. Such an' installation' would have a tremendous value in the school life. The estimated cost is £6O, and a sub-com-mittee was appointed to go into ways and means. The Visiting Committee reported that the memorial gates needed attention. An estimate of £BO was received for necessary top-dressing and repairs to the asphalt. To further the, proposal to enlarge the schoolr gymnasium it was decided to cal! a public meeting for Tuesday, September 22. The annual bazaar,, held in August, resulted in. the sum of £75 being raised. %
