WAIHOU MURDER MYSTERY
POLICE INVESTIGATION UNRELAXED [Per United Press Association.] WHANGAREI, September 15. Although the staff has been reduced the police have by no means relaxed their efforts to solve the mystery surrounding the death of Ernest Deverm Nelson, who was found murdered on Ins Waihou Valley property. I'rom a few hours after the discovery of the crime on the evening of June 9 the police have been continually on the trail, and their ' inquiries, which have covered a wide area, have been most exhaustive. Apparently the reward of £250 offeied bv the Justice Department for information leading to the apprehension of the murderer has not borne fruit. Detec-tive-sergeant Walsh, Detective A. Nalder. and Acting Detective Appelin, together with three constables, continue to make their headquarters in the Rangiahua Valley.
