RETURNS FOR AUGUST Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 14. (Received September 15, at 1.5 p.m.) The Board of Trade returns for August show that the imports amounted to £66.057,000, the exports to £35,258,000, and the re-exports to £4,355,000. The principal increases compared with August last year were: Imports—Grain and flour £1,161,000, dairy produce' £347,000, beverages £462,000, wood and timber £440,000, iron ore £313,000, cotton and raw waste £1,677,000, iron and steel £416,000, oils and fats £417,000; exports—vehicles £413,000. _ The Jprincipal decreases were:—lmports—Fresh fruit and vegetables £32,000, rubber £630,000; exports—coal £414,000, iron and steel £391,000.
