“ Carisbrook.” —The official figures for the Otago-Southland Ranfurly Shield match at Carisbrook on August 1 of this year show that the attendance was slightly over 28,000, which was a record for the ground and for a shield match in New Zealand. The official figures for the match on Saturday last between Australia and New Zealand show that the attendance was about 23,000.
“ J.S.”—Whether the pictures are' of value is a matter for an expert. The name of the painter is not known to us.
