A sitting of the Police Court was held this afternoon before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., Harry Walter Reid being charged that, on Augr/it 22 at Dunedin, he attempted to obtain from a local drapery establishment clothing to the value of £4 10s by means of a false pretence. Accused, when called on to plead, asked for a remand, as he had not had time to consult a solicitor. Chief-detective Young said he had been arrested in Gore yesterday. A remand was granted until September 23, the accused being admitted to bail in his own recognisance of £SO and one surety of £SO, conditional upon his reporting daily to the police.
