EXECUTIVE'S MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the executive of the Dunedin Bowling Centre was held on Saturday evening, Mr J. H. Hinton being in the chair. . A welcome was extended by the chairman to Messrs W. T. Henaghau (Caledonian). F. J. Campbell (Anderson’s Bay), J. Barrowman (Leith), C. M’Donald (North-east Valley), and W. Dryden (Opoho), as newly-appointed members of the executive. RINKS COMPETITIONS. It was reported by the secretary that 240 entries had been received for the Saturday rinks competition, and 29 for the Wednesday competition. The chairman stated that the entry for the former represented an adyance of 15 rinks over last year’s entry. Tho question of match dates and the draw was left for the arrangement of the Draw Committee. OPENING DAY. After some discussion on the subject of the opening day, it was decided that the competition should be formally opened on October 31. APPOINTMENT OF SUB-COMMIT-TEES. The following sub-committees were elected, the president to be an ex officio member of each : Draw Committee.—Messrs G. A. Nelson (convener), Forster, Rowley, Richards, and Davis. Selection Committee for interprovincial and inter-centre matches.— Messrs Devereux (convener), Connor, Read, and Henaghan. Green Committee. —Messrs Longworth , Melville, and Campbell. Saturday matches. —Messrs-T. Smith (convener), Butler, and Venn. Booklet Committee. —Messrs Callender, Thompson, and the secretary (Mr R. Hanning). Visits Committee.—Messrs A. Cook (convener). McDonald, Barrowman, ami Howard. GENERAL. It was decided to issue an invitation to tho Central Otago Bowling Centre to pay a visit to Dunedin during the coming season.
