Cabinet has decided to increase the basic salaries of State employees by H per cent. Extraordinary appropriations are announced for the army and navy air forces “in order to raise military preparations to the necessities of the international situation within a limited period.” Italy’s policy of selfsufficiency in raw materials is being vigorously continued. Special measures are being taken to raise the birthrate, including prizes for twins.
