MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING

SOUTHLAND V. OTAGO The return matches between the newly-formed Southland Aliniature Rifle Association and the Otago Aliniature Rifle Association was fired on the Drill Hall range on Saturday evening. The conditions of the matches were: A grade —l2 men to shoot, 10 highest to count; B grade, 12 highest were to count. The A grade was won by Otago by 21 points, and in the B grade the Otago No. 2 team beat the Otago No. 1 team by 11 points, with the Southland.team a further 16 points'back. Several of the visitors were the guests of the Otago members over the week-end. Air Graham, the organiser of the Southland invasion to Otago last August,. has generously presented a valuable cup to Mr Davis, the president of the Southland Association, for competition between the two associaitons. These matches are to be shot at Invercargill and Dunedin on the same dates as the interprovincial Rugby football matches played between the two provinces. The following are the results: —• A GRADE.
